Sam's was my go to when I was a student, 30 years later, it's still the best! My son will be going to UCSB so I had to bring him here, he now understands why I love this place.

I walked into Sam's and the first thing that came to mind was "How long has this place been here?"...turns out since '87 at this location and '82 at it's original location on Trigo. It's been a family run business for 42 years cranking out fantastic sandwiches and sides with a wide variety of beers and other drinks. The bread (white, wheat, sourdough, and Dutch crunch) is delivered fresh daily with no additives or preservatives. All the produce is cut fresh daily. They have 20 different sandwiches on the menu with both hot and cold, traditional and new favorites. The sandwiches are in a word 'Delicious'. Add in the best patio in IV and it's obvious how this place has been here for 42 years. If you're in IV you have to stop at Iconic Sam's ToGo.

Visited this weekend during my bachelorette party because I'm obsessed with their turkey bacon avocado sandwiches - the same man was working as he was ten years ago when I went to college here, just as nice as always. The sandwich is still delicious. I will always make a pit stop when I'm in the area, thank you Sam's!

I could only eat half of my sub (veggie delight with bacon), it was not very good. The bacon was extremely salty and the side without bacon was flavorless, maybe some salt and pepper on that side would have helped. Would not get that one again. The other sandwiches were pretty good, no complaints on them. They are overall decently sized and are quite filling. I would say these sandwiches are a solid average. Not bad, but not great or special. Perfect for college students and anyone that's already in the area that wants something easy to eat on the go that is simple tasting. The inside of the establishment, however, does not look clean at all. I'm all for small low-maintenance places, sometimes they have the best food & I have been to many, but this one to me looked "dirty", not jus low maintenance.

Wow, talk about a good sandwich! I was volunteering and the organizer bought sandwiches for everyone. This was a very welcomed surprised and tasted absolutely amazing after the long morning. The ingredients are fresh, the bread is fluffy and every bite was cherished. I don't know what sandwiches she specifically ordered, but you can probably discern the ingredients by the photo :)

Turkey avo cheese 8.95/10- this was scrumptious. Honestly very fresh and the ingredients combined were delicious. The service was up to par.. actually exceeded my expectations and was very fast. Rating may be inflated given the conditions of deltopia, Pi'erre, and flo milli.. eventually i will rate this place again but for IV food highly recommend Drew gives his sandwich a 9.75 and was conflicting giving it a 9.8.. he wanted to voice his opinion. His constructive comment was that his chicken sandwich had the option to choose between ranch and bbq, he chose ranch and states there was a bit too much causing the bread to be soggy

I loved this place while in college at UCSB and still love going even today! Great location right on Pardall. You can easily people watch and hang out for long periods of time if you want! They get sandwiches out so quick and you can really customize an order to get exactly what you want. I also love their French fries. The #14 is excellent and you can choose from several different sizes of sandwiches. So good!
